Why not help people who are starting a new role?
Put yourself in the shoes of someone who has just started a new role... you are likely to be feeling a little vulnerable.
There’s lots of change and you have to prove that you’re at least half as impressive as you pretended to be at interview. You are likely to be open to help and advice. You will also be keen to stamp your mark on your new role – so will be open to new advisors. In short, it’s a good time to start a conversation.
Why not offer something which will be valuable to them and at the same time build a connection? Perhaps a workshop to help them map their first 100 days, or a lunch to introduce them to some useful people. Making time for others can go a long way.
